A favorite flavor combination, this Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza is topped with ranch dressing, chunks of chicken, crispy bacon and lots of cheese.
If you love pizza as much as we do, you’ll also want to try this White Pizza or these Homemade Pizza Rolls.
There are a few flavor combinations that just go well together. Peanut butter and jelly. Tomato, mozzarella and basil. Strawberries and chocolate. Bacon and eggs.
And chicken, bacon and ranch.
It’s not a new flavor combination around here. We’ve had it in sliders, taquitos, wraps, and sandwiches.
And this Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza.
This pizza recipe actually made its debut here back in 2011. It has remained a family favorite since then. Or maybe just one of my favorites – my kids tend to be boring and just go for the cheese or pepperoni pizzas. 🙂
Just try one slice of this pizza and you’ll be a fan, as well.
Ingredients
The full ingredient list with amounts and instructions is below in the recipe card, but here are some notes about the ingredients.
- Bacon – you can use regular or thick cut. I usually just use regular. You can totally cook the bacon in strips and then crumble them, but I find it’s easier to cut the bacon and then just cook all of the bacon pieces in a skillet together.
- Chicken – you just need one boneless, skinless chicken breast, about 8 oz. You could use a thigh, as well, if you prefer.
- Pizza Dough – you can always buy dough from the grocery store, but I recommend my Homemade Pizza Dough. It will totally take your pizza up a level.
- Ranch Dressing – use your favorite brand here. Or you can make it from scratch, but I always just used store bought.
- Mozzarella Cheese – you can use pre-shredded from the store, but I always recommend shredding it yourself, as it will melt better.
- Cheddar Cheese – same as the mozzarella – I suggest shredding it yourself.
- Tomatoes – this really is an optional ingredient, but I like the freshness that it brings.
- Green Onions – if you have picky eaters, feel free to leave the green onions off, as well.
How to Make Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza
- Cook the bacon until it is crispy, then remove it to a paper towel lined plate. Use that same pan, including the bacon grease, to cook the chicken.
- Roll or stretch your dough into a circle.
- To assemble the pizza, first spread it with the ranch dressing, then top with cheese, followed by the cooked bacon and chicken.
- Transfer the pizza to the oven and bake until the crust is golden and crisp and the cheese is melted.
- Remove the pizza from the oven and top with the tomatoes.
Tips and Tricks
- I make my pizza using my homemade dough, on a pizza stone. If you are using store bought dough (especially the kind in a can) make sure you follow the baking instructions on the label.
- I have lots of pizza tips in my pizza dough post – make sure to check those out, as well!
- To save time/effort, you can use precooked, shredded chicken, but you’ll lose out on some of the flavor, as this chicken is cooked in the bacon grease.
- I like to add the cheese before the toppings so that the bacon stays crispy and the chicken doesn’t get soggy.
- You can also add the tomatoes before you bake the pizza. My husband doesn’t care for cooked tomatoes, so I usually add them after.
- For even more ranch flavor, try adding in some ranch seasoning to your pizza dough!

- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

- Spread the ranch dressing evenly over the dough, leaving a 1” border around the dough.
- Sprinkle both cheeses evenly over the dressing, followed by the bacon and the chicken.

- Add the tomatoes and green onion to the top of the pizza before serving.

I think it looks great! I love the fact that it's light a bit longer, but the first few weeks are agony, until my inner "clock" resets itself.

That sounds amazing! I'm always game for new pizza ideas. And yes… more light will be a wonderful thing! No more dinners for lunch! Yay 🙂

Pre-made dinner is a really good thing, regardless of light issues 🙂 I was wondering what to make for dinner. I'm thinking this sounds just right.

Haha YES is all I have to say to this post! Blogging made me start eating dinner for lunch (which is the way the Europeans do it anyway so I don't really feel THAT weird), which fine since I'm single and don't have to worry about feeding a person who wants to eat dinner at a normal time. I LOVE this pizza and actually, I really like burnt cheese, so this looks just perfect to me!

I totally agree with you about the time change thing! I'm so excited for the daylight to last long enough to get a good shot of dinner. I barely posted any dinner recipes all winter because of the terrible light!
This pizza looks super delicious. I'm bookmarking it to make sometime soon!

Life in the house of a food blogger is pretty funny. I like your trick to capture the light. It wouldn't work here, though, as it's grey all day long. Sigh.
Great looking pizza -doesn't look reheated at all.
