Perfectly patriotic, this 4th of July Breakfast Toast is a festive and easy holiday breakfast idea. It only takes minutes to make and the whole family loves it!

If you know me, you know I’m all about easy and fast. I’m not one to make the cute lunches or after school snacks.
But when I can make something that is super cute and super easy? I’ll take it!!
I originally posted this 4th of July Breakfast Toast back in 2011, and it has become a staple in my kitchen since. Even when it’s not dressed up as a flag for the 4th of July, my kids just love this toast topping.
This recipe is a great way to make the holiday morning a little bit special without a ton of effort.
What You’ll Need
Here’s what you’ll need to make this 4th of July Breakfast toast:
- Bread – you can use whatever you have on hand. I used regular white sandwich bread here.
- Cream Cheese – it’s easiest if you use the spreadable kind. Otherwise, you’ll want it to be at room temperature so you can spread it.
- Jam, Jelly or Preserves – Strawberry or raspberry are my favorites, but you could use cherry or any other red jelly you have.
- Blueberries – I’ve been finding them on sale lately, so this is a great time of year to use the fresh berries!
- Bananas – I only need about 1 banana for 4 pieces of toast.
How to Make It
- Start by toasting your bread.
- Spread the cream cheese on each slice.
- Spread the jam on top of the cream cheese.
- Use the blueberries to form the star corner. I think 9 blueberries is perfect for a regular piece of sandwich bread.
- Add your “stripes” with the bananas. If you have a bigger piece of bread, you could add more than 3 stripes, but I usually just do 3 with a regular piece of toast.
- Enjoy!
This is best served right away. I like it best when the toast is still warm, and it will get soggy if it sits too long.
