I don’t often indulge in fancy warm drinks. I’m not a coffee drinker. I love hot chocolate, but it’s pretty rare that I actually drink it. But when fall comes around and the temps start to drop, you can’t help but want to cuddle up on the couch, hot drink in hand.
There is a local bakery/cafe here that serves up a variety of steamers – which are basically just warm milk drinks. I have heard that you can get steamers at Starbucks as well. I am pretty sure that these drinks are just flavored with syrups. I’m totally ok with that. Unless I am making it at home, and I don’t want to buy a whole bottle of pumpkin spice syrup. And I don’t want to make you have to buy a whole bottle. Because really, making this delicious drink from scratch is pretty darn easy.
I used a blender to combine all of the ingredients, and the blender also makes it a little bit frothy, which I think makes it a little more special. I’m pretty sure you could just whisk together all of the ingredients, but the blender was definitely an easy way to go. And I admit that I totally used whipped cream from a can, because it was easy. But some good, homemade whipped cream would really be amazing.
I know I’ll be keeping this around all winter, especially when it starts to snow. I can’t think of a better way to keep warm!

Can almond milk be used instead of regular milk?

I haven’t tried it, but I’m guessing that it would work.
