You all know I love tacos! I won’t turn them down in any shape or flavor.
So when I came across the recipe for these Greek Tacos, I knew I needed them on my table. This recipe come from a cute little cookbook called Mix & Match Meal Planner. I am a huge fan of meal planning, so this cookbook is right up my alley!
Apparently, I really love Greek flavors. Seeing that I’ve made Greek quesadillas, Greek Chicken Wraps, a Greek Quinoa Salad, and even Greek Goulash – I was surprised that I didn’t have a Greek taco recipe yet.
You start with ground turkey mixed with oregano and spinach as the base. I love, love that you add hummus to the tacos, and then top them with all kinds of veggies and olives. These Greek tacos were so simple, so perfect for a weeknight. And I loved that they had so much flavor packed into a taco that is actually pretty good for you.
I’d gladly add these Greek tacos to my weekly menu!
Ingredients
- Olive Oil: Since ground turkey is leaner, I like to start it with some olive oil. If you have a good nonstick skillet, you might be able to skip the oil.
- Turkey: This recipe calls for ground turkey, but I think it would be equally delicious with ground chicken or ground beef.
- Oregano: The oregano adds great Greek flavor.
- Spinach: I used frozen spinach for this recipe. If you want to use fresh spinach, you will need to cook it first. If starting with fresh spinach, you’ll need about 1 1/2 pounds.
- Tortillas: I used flour tortillas, but you could also use a pita bread.
- Hummus: You can use store bought or homemade.
- Vegetables: I love the mix of veggies on these tacos! The recipe calls for onion, cucumber, and tomatoes.
- Olives: Kalamata olives add great flavor and saltiness.
- Feta: Finish the tacos off with some crumbled feta cheese.
How to Make Greek Tacos
Brown the ground turkey in the oil. Once browned, add the oregano and the spinach and mix well.
Assemble the tacos by spreading some hummus down each taco. Top with the turkey mixture, then add some onion, cucumber, tomatoes, and olives. Top it all of with a sprinkle of feta cheese.

This was delicious! Didn’t change a thing other than using a little extra hummus. Served it with roasted Greek potatoes Excellent.

I absolutely LOVED this recipe! I added a tiny bit more oregano (we like oregano), and I also used a bit of Tzatziki sauce on the meat mixture. I’ve made it twice now, and felt the Tzatziki would work well. Thank you for this!
