If you love pepperoni pizza, you’ll go crazy over these Pepperoni Pizza Sliders! Buttery, cheesy, and filled with spices, this is a perfect game day food or family friendly dinner.

Every Sunday as we are sitting at dinner, I’ll ask for dinner requests for the next week.
9 times out of 10, my youngest will say these Pepperoni Pizza Sliders. To say they are a favorite is an understatement.
While we still make homemade pizza all the time, these pizza sliders are a great way to change things up if you are craving the flavors of pizza, but want something a little different.
And it doesn’t hurt that cleanup is super easy, and hands on time is super minimal!
Ingredients
- Rolls: I like to use the Kings Hawaiian rolls. If you’d prefer to skip the sweetness, you can use any savory rolls. But I like to use rolls that are all connected, because I find it’s easier to assemble them.
- Pizza Sauce: The biggest thing here is to use a pizza sauce that you love, because the flavor will really come through. I like to use my homemade pizza sauce. It’s super easy and fast to make!
- Pepperoni: If you can find the mini pepperoni, they are so easy to use in this recipe. Plus it makes them easier to cut into portions when it’s time to eat. You can use regular pepperoni, though, if that is what you have.
- Cheese: I like to use mozzarella cheese. Shredded will melt well, but sliced can also be used.
- Butter: If you are wanting to cut a few calories, you can reduce the amount of butter. But one of my favorite parts of sliders is when the rolls get buttery and crispy, and the butter drips down to the bottom to crisp up the bottom rolls, as well.
- Parsley: I really like to use fresh parsley in the topping. If you do need to use dry, just reduct the amount to 1-2 teaspoons, depending on preference.
- Seasonings: The other seasonings you’ll add to the topping are garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and red pepper flakes. If you don’t want any heat, leave the red pepper flakes out.
How to Make Pepperoni Pizza Sliders
STEP 1: The first step is cut cut the rolls in half horizontally. I like to keep them all together. It makes the sliders easier to assemble, and keeps the filling in better. You’ll place the bottom half in a baking dish. I usually just use a 9×13-inch dish, even though it doesn’t fill the dish. You can also use a baking sheet, but since you will cover them with foil, I find that a baking dish is easier so that the foil isn’t touching the tops of the rolls.
STEP 2: Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the bottom half of the rolls. You want to go all of the way to the edges.
STEP 3: Take half of your cheese and sprinkle it evenly over the pizza sauce.
STEP 4: Follow this with the pepperoni, keeping the pepperoni layer as even as possible.
STEP 5: Take your remaining cheese and sprinkle it over the pepperoni. Top this with the top half of your rolls.
STEP 6: in a small bowl, mix the melted butter with the parsley, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and red pepper flakes. Spread this over the tops of the rolls.
Tips and Tricks
If you are using homemade pizza sauce, it tends to be a little thicker than store bought sauce. So if you are using store bought, you may need more than 1/2 cup of sauce to make it saucy enough.
These can be made ahead of time. I would wait to add the topping until before you bake them, but assemble, cover and refrigerate until ready to bake. When ready to bake, top with the butter and herb mixture, then bake as directing, adding an additional 3 minutes.
These sliders will get a little soggy as leftovers, but we still love them! Simply microwave for about 30-45 seconds to reheat.
Change it Up
You can definitely turn these into any pizza flavor combination that you’d like! Add vegetables, like mushrooms or peppers, change up the meat and do pineapple or sausage. Pepperoni is always a winner, but feel free to get creative with them, too!

Pepperoni Pizza Sliders
Ingredients
- 1 (12-count) package Hawaiian dinner rolls
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 2.5 oz mini pepperoni
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup butter melted
- 2 tablespoons freshly grated parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400ºF. Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray or line with parchment paper.
- Use a sharp knife to cut the rolls in half horizontally, keeping the rolls together. (I find it’s easier to assemble them if you keep them all together.) Place the bottom half of the rolls in the prepared baking dish.
- Spread the pizza sauce over the cut side of the rolls. Sprinkle half of the cheese on top, followed by the pepperoni. Then sprinkle the remaining cheese over the pepperoni. Place the top half of the rolls on top.
- In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, parmesan cheese, parsley, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and red pepper flakes. Spread the mixture evenly over the tops of the rolls.
- Loosely cover the dish with foil. Transfer to the oven to baked for 20 minutes.
- Remove the foil, and cook an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops are toasted.
- Let the sliders sit for a few minutes before cutting into servings.
