Looking for the easiest side dish ever? These Air Fryer Green Beans take minutes to throw together and minutes to cook, giving you a side dish that is delicious and fast.
Green beans are a favorite side dish in our house. If you want more green bean recipes, try these Sauteed Green Beans with Cherry Tomatoes or these Sesame Green Beans.
Side dishes are often the hardest part of planning dinner. I like to have at least one vegetable on the table, but so often, most of the prep work goes into the main dish, and I don’t want to spend a lot of time or effort on the side dish.
That’s just one of the reasons I love these Air Fryer Green Beans so much.
So easy. So fast.
All you need is 15 minutes and a few ingredients. And you have the best green beans!
And not only are these perfect for a weeknight, but they are a perfect addition to a holiday dinner. They are fast – plus they don’t take up valuable stove or oven space!
Ingredients
- Green Beans: I would suggest only using fresh green beans. You could use frozen green beans, but they will not stay crisp tender and will be softer than fresh.
- Olive Oil: I like to use extra virgin olive oil. If you want to cut back on fat or calories, you can even cut this amount in half.
- Garlic Powder: This gives some great flavor. If you are not a garlic fan, you can leave this out.
- Salt and Pepper: You want to season the green beans well. If you like things less salty, you can cut the salt amount in half.
How to Make Air Fryer Green Beans
- Preheat the air fryer while you prepare the green beans.
- Start by combining all of the ingredients in a bowl. Stir until the green beans are coated evenly in the oil and the spices.
- Place the green beans in the basket of your air fryer. Try to get them in as even of a layer as possible.
- Cook for 4 minutes, then shake the basket. Return the basket to the air fryer and cook until crisp tender. This should take anywhere from 4-6 more minutes.
Tips and Tricks
If you like your green beans softer, just add on a few more minutes of cook time. If you like them more crisp, cook them a little less.
I have a 6-quart air fryer and it has worked well for our needs.
Feel free to jazz your green beans up with more or different spices. This recipe is very adaptable!
Store any leftovers in an airtight container. The leftovers won’t stay crisp tender, but they will still be delicious!
