I wasn’t going to post a dessert today, because I have a whole week of red velvet desserts coming to you next week. But then I realized that I haven’t even posted a dessert at all for 2 weeks now, and really, I don’t think I’ve ever gone that long without posting a dessert!!
So I am here with cookies. And not just any cookies. Banana Split Cake Mix Cookies.
Now, I’ll admit that I do love a good cake mix cookie every once in awhile. And it’s pretty obvious that all of you do because the cake mix cookies I posted in 2007 are still the #2 recipe here.
Today’s recipe has a few more ingredients mixed in, but you get an incredibly flavorful cookie with very little effort. You don’t even need a mixer – these come together by hand in a matter of minutes!! They are super soft and full of banana, chocolate and cherry flavors. And don’t forget the sprinkles!!

Hello, I don’t have an idea of what the above approximates to. Can you tell me in terms of teaspoons or tablespoons how much dough would I need to make the “walnut sized” measurement please?
Thank you.
Deborah says
You can use about 1 1/2 tablespoons or if you have a cookie scoop close to that.

These cookies look so good! I love a good banana split, but have never tried it in cookie form. I’ve added these to my Pinterest Cookie Recipe board so I can give them a try as soon as we get back to Cookie Fridays with the kids. Thanks for sharing!

Your cookies sound great! It’s been a while since I’ve baked with banana, gotta correct that:@)
Karly says
Alright, so I’m not saying that your cake mix cookie pictures from way back when are terrible or anything, but for real. Why is it always the terrible photos that are the most popular? I’m considering doing away with my camera and just using my iPhone with the flash to take all future food shots. Pretty sure I’ll be a major hit.
Deborah says
@Karly, haha!! I’ve been redoing a lot of my old pictures, but I won’t touch that one because for some reason, it gets pinned like nobody’s business. I think you’re onto something!!
Tracey @ The Kitchen is My Playground says
