White chocolate coated Rice Krispies meet semi-sweet chocolate coated Rice Krispies to form this fun dessert bar.
That darn Candy Crush…
I’m not a big gaming person. Board games? I love them. But computer/video/phone games? I’m not usually all that into them. Sometimes I’ll get caught up in a phone game, but it usually lasts a couple of weeks, at best, and then I’m over it. But I’m never a hard core, always addicted and wanting to play kind of person.
But then, on a whim, I downloaded Candy Crush. I have seen people playing it for quite some time now – mostly the little updates in my Facebook timeline. And really, I don’t know what persuaded me to do it. Usually when I’m on my phone, (which is mostly when I’m nursing Camden), I’m either checking email or Instagram. But I put it on my phone to see what all the fuss was about.
And now. I can’t. Stop. Playing.
It makes me frustrated. It makes me mad. Like how do you expect me to get all of the ingredients to the bottom of the board when I’m out of moves and you haven’t even shown me all of the ingredients yet?
But I still keep playing. Until I run out of lives and I have to wait that half hour until I can play again. And I refuse to connect my Facebook account so that I can beg my friends for more lives. Then I will really never stop playing!!
So instead of taking the time to actually bake something, I decided to throw something together that could be made while I’m waiting for those lives to restore. Something that doesn’t require the use of the oven in this heat. And something that is a real crowd pleaser.
Enter Black and White Rice Krispie Treats. I actually considered not even calling these rice krispie treats at all, because you kind of automatically think marshmallow when you think of rice krispie treats. And although I do love ooey, gooey marshmallow rice krispie treats, these are just a little bit different. And full of chocolate. Both white and semi-sweet.
These really couldn’t be much easier to throw together, and I love the two-toned look and the two different flavors. And did I mention they are easy? And no bake?
And now if you’ll excuse me – I have been on this level for hours now and it’s driving me crazy…

This recipe is horrible. Followed it exactly. Couldn’t even cut them when they were cold. It crumbled immediately. If I ever attempt his again I’m going to melt 6-8 ounces of marshmallow with the chocolate & see if that makes a difference. Also a teaspoon of salt & some vanilla might boost the flavor.

Hi BJR – this is a really old recipe, and I’ve added it to my list to try to re-test and re-work very soon. Sorry it didn’t work out for you.

Do you know how long do these last before they go stale?
Deborah says
I would guess that they would last at least several days if they are covered.

These look so fun!!! I keep getting invites for Candy Crush and so far I keep ignoring them. After my stupid Sims went away, I vowed to not get involved again. LOL!

Friend, I hate phone games. They are lame. And now I’m going to text you to find out if we are on the same level. 😉
