Oh, how we love a good cheesy dip! If you love them cheesy, as well, make sure you also check out this Cheesy Mexican Dip or this Pepperoni Pizza Dip.
I’m on a bit of a dip kick. And when it comes to dips, you really can’t go wrong with bacon or cheese.
So of course, this Cheesy Bacon Dip is a new family favorite.
Filled with 3 different kinds of cheese plus bacon throughout the dip and also on top, this dip recipe is the pure definition of flavor.
Serve it up at your next party or make it for game day – it will disappear before you know it!
Ingredients
- Bacon: Bacon is the star ingredient here – I like to use a thick cut bacon, but regular bacon is great, as well.
- Cream Cheese: This works best if the cream cheese is room temperature.
- Sour Cream & Mayonnaise: Mayonnaise is pretty traditional in a dip like this, but it can also make the dip greasy. So I like to use a mixture of sour cream and mayonnaise.
- Monterey Jack and Cheddar Cheese: The cheesiness is important, and both Monterey Jack and Cheddar will give this dip nice flavor and a great cheese pull.
- Garlic Powder: You can also add in fresh garlic, if desired, but garlic powder works great.
- Green Onions: The green onions add some great flavor and freshness.
- Crackers: This dip is finished off with a crispy cracker and bacon topping. For the crackers, I use Ritz crackers, but any buttery cracker should work.
- Butter: The butter just helps the crackers to get nice and crispy.
How to Make Cheesy Bacon Dip
- Start by cooking your bacon, then chopping it roughly.
- In a large bowl, beat together the cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. I used a hand mixer, but you could also do this by hand.
- Add both the Monterey jack and cheddar cheese, garlic powder, green onions, and half of the cooked bacon.
- Spread this into a round 9-inch baking dish. I use a pie plate. Place the dish in the oven and bake for 20 minutes.
- While the dip is baking, combine the remaining bacon with the crumbled crackers and the butter. Stir to combine.
- When the dip has baked for 20 minutes, remove from the oven and top with the cracker and bacon mixture. Return to the oven and let it bake for another 5-10 minutes.
Tips and Tricks
Feel free to change up the cheeses that you use. I like the mixture of monterey jack and cheddar, but you could use mozzarella, provolone, or even throw in some blue cheese!
I like to serve this Cheesy Bacon Dip with assorted crackers, but you could also serve it with chips or vegetables.
If you have leftovers, store it in the refrigerator. It can be reheated in the microwave or the oven.
Make Ahead Instructions
You can easily make this dip ahead of time so you can bake it up fresh when needed. If you are making it ahead of time, do not add the cracker topping. Make the dip up until the point before the first bake, then cover and refrigerate.
You can combine the crackers and the bacon, but do not stir in the melted butter until right before it goes into the oven for the second bake.

I agree. I don't like sports, but I love getting together with family and friends (and eating good food too!) This dip looks delicious, and I'm sure it would be popular at any football or sports party. I love the smoked almonds on top!
