Chicken is pounded flat and rolled up with a garlic cheese mixture in the center, and cooked with a parmesan crust in these Garlic Cheese Chicken Roll Ups.
I’m sure I’ve mentioned this before, but before I discovered food blogging, I was an allrecipes addict. I loved reading through reviews of recipes, and making my own reviews after I tried a recipe. I even started taking pictures back then and submitting them to the site and I was always excited when one of my pictures was chosen as the “main” picture.
I discovered these Garlic Cheese Chicken Roll Ups back in those days, and since then, it has become a family favorite. It’s one of those recipes that you want to share with others because not only is it easy and tasty, but it is very kid friendly as well. In fact, the first time I made it, I made it for my sister’s family and her kids, and they all loved it!
The cheese filling can also be changed up – it calls for garlic cheese spread, and I usually use a garlic cream cheese because that is what we like the best. But feel free to substitute and play around with it! A definite crowd pleaser!
Garlic Cheese Chicken Rollups
Ingredients
- 4 skinless boneless chicken breasts
- 1 cup dried seasoned bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup butter melted
- 1 7 ounce package garlic cheese spread
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Pound chicken breasts until thinned out. In a shallow dish or bowl mix together bread crumbs and cheese. Dip one side of each breast into melted butter, then into crumb/cheese mixture. Place a dollop of cheese spread at one end of each chicken breast, on the side of the breast not dipped in the mixture. Roll up each breast and secure with toothpicks.
- Place rollups in a lightly greased 9×13 inch baking dish and drizzle any remaining butter over all. Bake in the preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes, or until cooked through and juices run clear.

Allrecipes gets a bad rap from the “foodies”…there are some seriously good and proven recipes there! Many can be a jumping off point for something unique, too. Some of our favorites started at allrecipes…I just tinker around with them to make them mine. Plus, the reviews are usually really helpful and thoughtful.
This is a goooood recipe!

You’re right, these simple sorts of recipes are sometimes the best for everyday meals. I still browse allrecipes now and then.

I can see why this is a crowd pleaser …it looks divine. I was so surprised at how easy your instructions are! Now I know what to do with the chicken in the fridge! Great idea about using cream cheese … I’ve got some of that, too! YUM!

That’s very easy and looks really good!! I have been having the worst time coming up with something to make for dinner at A)i have all the ingredients for B)is easy to make so I can throw it together with one hand or in a rare moment of silence.. and C) doesnt take too long to eat.. so we can eat it with one hand.. or in a rare moment of silence! Most of our dinners consist of one person eating as fast as they can so they can take the baby and the other person can eat!! 🙂 This looks like it just might fit the bill.. (except for having garlic cream cheese on hnad.. but i bet it can be easily made!)
It bet this would be really good with the sauce I normally make for chicken cordon blue.. just cream of chicken soup and sour cream.. Sorry.. I’m a sauce girl! 🙂

Best I don’t show these to the boys today. I’m going out for dinner and I think they’d be feeling a bit cheated with what I’m serving up for them and Hubs.
