Perfect for summer, this Honeydew Lime Smoothie is sweet and a bit tart and full of melon flavor.
My daughter “graduates” from kindergarten today. I don’t know why, but I keep laughing that they have an actual graduation ceremony for them. We had one last year for pre-school, and now another for kindergarten. Is she going to be disappointed when she gets to the end of her first grade year to discover that she doesn’t get to have a graduation ceremony?
But she is excited, and happy, and that’s all that really matters.
So this means that our summer vacation technically starts tomorrow afternoon. I can’t believe it’s already summer. Especially because it hasn’t felt like summer at all. We had a very mild winter here in Utah this year, with not a lot of snow. But mother nature is making up for it now, with crazy rainstorms. Like rainstorms every day. For the last 2 or 3 weeks. I won’t even get started on how hard it is to photograph recipes when there is cloud cover every single day. I’m not complaining about the rain – I know that it is much needed right now – but when it’s rainy and cold, you tend to want to cuddle up inside with a bowl of chili instead of being outside, cooling down with a snow cone. So yeah – things around here definitely don’t feel like summer yet.
So sometimes you need to bring a little bit of the feel of summer inside, even when you look out the window and see something different. This smoothie – it’s the perfect way to get a taste of summer. Because what says summer more than a delicious melon?
This smoothie recipe combines honeydew melon with a bit of lime juice for a fun smoothie recipe. It’s especially good if you can get a melon that is super sweet. Honeydew isn’t a typical smoothie ingredient, and I don’t know why, because I love it in smoothies!!

Honeydew is 100% my favorite melon! I love that you paired it with lime…I don’t think I’ve ever tried the two together before, but now I must!

I am so glad you said that about graduation! I am a Kindergarten ether and we did away with “graduation” a couple of years ago, to the dismay of many parents . It does get a bit ridiculous, doesn’t it? 😉
Thank you for this great recipe– can’t wait to make this!
