Can’t decide between tacos and pizza? Then combine them with this Taco Pizza! This flavorful dish combines all your favorite taco ingredients, like seasoned ground beef, pico de gallo, lettuce, and cheese, with a crispy pizza crust. Perfect for a fun family dinner or game night with friends.
Let’s all go pizza crazy! We love getting creative with our pizza night. Some of our other favorites are this Meatball Pizza, this Cheeseburger Pizza, or this BBQ Chicken Pizza. Or check out any of our other pizza recipes.
I love tacos. I would be more than happy to have taco night at least once a week. In fact, when my husband and I first started dating, tacos were the first meal that we made together.
Another family favorite in our house is pizza. We have pizza a lot.
So I decided to combine two of my favorites – tacos and pizza. Seriously – they are totally a match made in heaven!!
I think I’m going to have to start combining foods more often, because these were mighty tasty. Now I just need to think of the next thing my tacos would taste good on top of!
Ingredients
- Pizza Dough: I like to use my homemade pizza dough recipe. It really makes this pizza amazing! But you can use store bought dough if you don’t want to make your own.
- Ground Beef: Sub in ground turkey for the beef, if that is what you like better.
- Taco Seasoning: You can use homemade taco seasoning or store bought.
- Refried Beans: Again, you can use homemade refried beans or store bought.
- Cheese: I like to use shredded cheddar cheese because that is what we put on our ground beef tacos.
- Toppings: You can get creative here! I like to add shredded lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream, and guacamole.
How to Make Taco Pizza
- Cook your ground beef, then add the taco seasoning. While that is cooking, heat the beans up until they are warm and spreadable.
- Roll or stretch your dough out into a large circle. (I make mine as wide as the parchment paper.)
- Spread the beans over the dough, then top with the ground beef mixture, followed by the cheese.
- Bake until the dough is golden and the cheese is melted.
Tips and Tricks
I am a huge believer in using a pizza stone. They are fairly inexpensive and make a big difference.
If you don’t have a pizza stone, you don’t need to preheat your oven for the full 30 minutes.
I like to use parchment paper when I bake my pizza. I’m not great at sliding the dough from the paddle to the pizza stone, so this trick has been a lifesaver for me!
If you like an extra crispy crust, you can par-bake the crust for a few minutes before adding the toppings.
You can add the toppings to the top of the pizza before serving, or you can let each person add their own desired toppings.
The first time I made this recipe, I made 4 mini pizzas from the dough. The kids love them when they are mini!

Love this! I’m with you…I could eat tacos or Mexican food about every night and not get bored. We use pitas for super fast individual pizzas alot. I will try both ways- with the real dough and pitas.
