These Maple Bacon Waffles have syrup infused waffles with bacon pieces throughout for a breakfast favorite. This is the perfect breakfast for sweet and salty lovers.
As much as I love a traditional waffle recipe, sometimes it’s fun to change things up! For even more indulgence, serve these waffles with homemade Buttermilk Syrup.
Ok, so by this point, we should all know that I’m a sucker for breakfast, right? And that I rarely actually eat it for breakfast, but instead, often eat it for dinner.
Don’t get me wrong – I’d love to actually be able to eat breakfast for breakfast. But until the kids get a little older, I’ve gotten used to only doing the whole “grab and eat” thing.
But I have been going extra crazy for breakfast for dinner lately. It’s always so easy, and I can never complain when breakfast is involved.
And guess what? These waffles make the perfect breakfast for dinner meal. You’ve got your salty and your sweet, all rolled into one. And for me, that is never a bad combination.
Ingredients
- Bacon: I usually use regular cut bacon. You could use thick cut bacon for larger pieces of bacon in the waffles.
- Flour: I have only tested this recipe using all-purpose flour.
- Sugar: This brings in just a little bit of sweetness.
- Baking Powder: The baking powder gives the waffles their lift. Don’t skip it!
- Salt: This balances out the flavors.
- Eggs: The eggs are important for the texture of the waffles. They also provide some lift and lightness.
- Milk: I typically use 2%, but any milk should work.
- Oil: You can use any oil as long as it is neutral flavored. I usually use vegetable oil.
- Syrup: Real maple syrup will give you the best flavor.
- Maple Extract: This just brings in an extra dose of maple flavor. If you aren’t as concerned about the maple flavor, you can leave this out.
Tips and Tricks
The number of waffles you make depends on the waffle iron you are using.
Serve these waffles with extra maple syrup, or with a dollop of whipped cream.
You can also cook up some extra bacon to sprinkle on top of the waffles.
These waffles also freeze well. Reheat in the toaster for a fast breakfast.

I’ve had this recipe pinned for a while, but actually made them for the first time today – delicious!! I cut my bacon strips in half before cooking, than laid a half piece in each waffle quarter before baking. Thanks for the recipe!

Sayyyy Whaaa? Okay, confession time. I’m not a fan of waffles…at all! Everytime Josh makes them, I kind of grumble. But, this…I’m thinking I could totally get behind. Pure genius adding in the bacon! I could just hug you for this post!

I’ve made maple infused waffles before but I bet the bacon sends the waffles over the top! I think we’ll try these next time we make breakfast (which is usually for dinner in our house too)!
