I’m normally a planner. I have a calendar that is filled out with what I am posting, and I stick to it for the most part.
Until I see a recipe and I have to have it. Right. Now.
I was watching a cooking show on tv, and they were making a peanut butter and jelly cheese ball. And as much as I love a sweet cheese ball, I wanted to make this even easier.
So I got to work. I guess I shouldn’t say work, because this is really no work at all. 10 minutes. Or less. Seriously. I opted to go the dip route instead of the cheeseball route, simply because I really wanted the peanut butter and jelly flavors to stand out, and adding extra jelly made the mixture too soft to form a ball. Not to mention easier and faster.
As a lover of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, I thought this dip was perfection. I served it up with some graham crackers, but I think any sort of sweet crackers, or even pretzels would be delicious.
This Peanut Butter and Jelly Dip would be a perfect sweet addition to a game day spread,
Ingredients & Substitutions
Cream Cheese: You’ll want to start with softened cream cheese. Low fat cream cheese should work, as well.
Peanut Butter: Feel free to use creamy or chunky peanut butter. Of if you want to switch it up, almond butter or another nut butter would be great!
Strawberry Jelly: Strawberry jelly is a family favorite, but you could really use any flavor of jelly or jam that you want to.
Honey: This just adds a little extra sweetness, and it goes perfectly with the peanut butter!
Peanuts: I like to use salted peanuts. If you don’t want the chunks of peanuts, you can leave these out. I also like to add a few extra peanuts and a swirl of jelly to the top of the dip.
