Two kid favorites come together to make these Pizza Dogs – pizza and hot dogs! This is an easy, no fuss dinner the whole family will enjoy.

There is one thing that my kids will always chow down. Ok, two things, because you’d be amazed at how many pancakes they can put down! But the other no fail is pizza. So it’s only natural that I’d try to combine their love of pizza with my love of hot dogs.
And the Pizza Dog was born.
This is a 15 minute hot dog. And I pretty much have all of these ingredients on hand all the time. And did I mention how much I loved this hot dog?
So yeah – I can see this one happening at my house on a regular basis!
What You’ll Need
Hot Dogs: I like to use all beef, bun length hot dogs. My favorite are the ones from Costco.
Hot Dog Buns: You’ll want a soft, fresh bun.
Pizza Sauce: I like to use my homemade pizza sauce recipe, but any pizza sauce you like will work.
Mozzarella Cheese: If you can get fresh mozzarella cheese instead of a block of cheese, these will be the best. But you could also use shredded mozzarella, if that is what you have on hand.
Pepperoni: I find that the mini pepperoni work best with these hot dogs. But if you want to use regular pepperoni, go for it!
Tips and Tricks
- If you don’t like pepperoni, feel free to just do cheese pizza dogs, or get creative and add your favorite pizza toppings!
- I used to either boil the hot dogs or grill the hot dogs. Now my favorite way are these Air Fryer Hot Dogs. You can cook them however you like them best.
- These are best eaten fresh. If you do make some up that don’t get eaten, wrap them in foil and store in the refrigerator. Reheat in the oven, wrapped in the foil.
