One of my favorite things is to go back to favorite recipes and change them up. Whether it’s for the blog, or just for some random weeknight dinner.
One of those recipes that is easy to change up is this Cheesy Garlic Bread recipe that we absolutely love.
This Ranch Cheese Bread came to me pretty easily. Because you can really add ranch to anything and make it delicious!
This Ranch Cheese Bread is so super simple, yet packed with flavor. And did I mention addictive? And cheesy? This is the perfect side dish for any meal.
Ingredients
- Cheese: I use Colby-jack cheese, but feel free to swap in your favorite easy melting cheese. I think mozzarella would be delicious, too!
- Greek Yogurt: I swapped Greek yogurt in for the mayonnaise that is in my original cheese bread recipe, mostly to cut some calories and because the ranch mix I used was for Greek yogurt. But you could also use mayonnaise, if desired.
- Butter: You can use unsalted or salted butter in this recipe.
- Ranch Mix: You can easily swap in homemade ranch dressing mix (you just need the powdered mix). Or you can use regular ranch seasoning.
- French Bread: I just grab a 1 pound loaf of French bread at the grocery store for ease. But you could also make homemade French bread!
- Green Onions: These are just to add some freshness and flavor.
How to Make Ranch Cheese Bread
This recipe couldn’t be any easier!
- Mix together the cheese, yogurt, butter, and ranch seasoning.
- Cut your French bread in half horizontally, then spread half of the mixture over the cut half of each bread.
- Place the bread on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes, then turn on the broiler and let it cook just until the edges are toasted and the cheese is bubbling.
- Sprinkle the top with green onions before serving.
Tips and Tricks
Be careful as you are broiling the bread for the last minute or so – it will go from toasted to burnt, and you don’t want it burnt!
You can also cut this recipe in half and use a smaller loaf of bread if you don’t need as much.
This bread really is best served fresh, but if you do have any leftovers, store them in the refrigerator. Reheat in the oven or in the air fryer.

Do left overs need to be refrigerated?
Deborah says
Yes, I would refrigerate because of the yogurt and the cheese.

It’s funny they made a special “Greek Yogurt” style dips because I’ve always used Greek yogurt for the regular dips instead of sour cream. I guess not everyone thinks about things unless it’s on the label lol

I need to remember to cook from my own archives more often. Or rather, just remember to cook those dishes/recipes we LOVED before I even started blogging. Those have long been forgotten 🙁
This recipe looks beyond decadent and addictive, and I would have never guessed you used yogurt for it. I love it! That Hidden Valley Ranch Greek Yogurt mix has found a pretty permanent spot in my pantry cupboard. It’s so versatile!
