Having 3 kids 4 and under keeps life exciting. I love them all dearly, I really do, but sometimes it can be a challenge. The two older kids have decided that they constantly want to compete for attention. If Easton falls down and starts crying, Abbi will follow behind him and purposely fall down and start crying. So instead of one crying child, I always have 2. (Luckily Camden is an angel baby and just sits by and watches all of the drama go down!)
The other day, I went to make dinner. And of course, once I’m knee deep in chicken, that’s when it all breaks loose. The dog starts crying to go outside. Abbi is yelling for something from one side of the house, and Easton is crying because he wants his drink filled up. It’s nights like those that I wonder how I even get dinner on the table.
So when it comes to dessert, I’ve been going as simple as possible. And these bars here – only 4 ingredients. Talk about simple!
I actually ran across these while surfing on Pinterest one day. I saw a version of these, and clicked on it, only to find that it dead ended. I really don’t like it when that happens! I did some searching, and found similar recipes several places online, but they were all very vague.
One box of Ritz crackers. What is that supposed to mean? I don’t know about your grocery store, but there is more than one size of box of Ritz crackers at my grocery store.
Some recipes said to cook them for half an hour. Some for no more than 8 minutes. And some didn’t bake them at all. They were really turning into a mystery!
I really wanted to try these, and I know you all aren’t digging the vague ingredients either, so I decided to try these out – with actual measurements.
Lucky for me (and for you!), they were really pretty easy, and turned out fabulous the first time I tried them. My husband couldn’t get enough of them, claiming that they are his favorite thing that I’ve made in awhile. And they only take 4 ingredients. I can totally do these while all is going crazy around me!!

Skor Squares
Ingredients
- 1 (11.3 oz) box Ritz Crackers
- 1 (8 oz) bag toffee bits
- 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Spray an 8×8-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- Place all of the Ritz crackers in a food processor and process until they are fine crumbs. Pour them into a bowl.
- To the bowl of crackers, add 1 cup of the toffee bits and the can of sweetened condensed milk. Stir until combined. Press into the prepared baking dish. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove from oven.
- Immediately pour the chocolate chips evenly over the top of the bars. Allow them to sit for a few minutes to melt, then spread evenly over the top. (If they aren’t melting, stick the pan back into the oven for a minute or two.) Sprinkle on the remaining toffee bits. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.

This looks so yummy and I love how easy it looks. And don’t even get me started on the pinterest stuff. I’m sure I have a few pins that lead to dead ends, but the ones that make me really mad, are the links that just take you to a weird cooking site with the picture of the recipe with no link to where the recipe came from.

I think you are amazing Deborah. My kiddos are four years apart and I can barely keep up with cooking enough to post once a week, let alone as often as you do. You are a super woman and with recipes like this, my kids will think I am too. 😉

Smileygem says
These sound great – what are toffee bits thought? I think I will have to substitute them for something – are they soft fudge or chewey toffee?
Deborah says
@Smileygem, they are like the inside of a skor bar or heath bar. You can usually buy bags of them in the baking section at the grocery store.
