I can honestly say that I love to be in the kitchen.
Sometimes, as a food blogger, I worry about burnout and getting sick of cooking. And while I am human, and there are nights that I just don’t want to make dinner, I can say that 90% of the time, I get excited about cooking. About looking at recipes, planning recipes, thinking about recipes.
So what do I do that other 10% of the time? Easy crock pot recipes like this Asian Slow Cooker Pork Roast come to the rescue! You only need about 10 minutes for prepping the recipe, and then it slow cooks and dinner is on the table with hardly any effort.
I actually made this slow cooker pork roast recipe in the middle of summer, but it’s one of those recipes that is perfect year round. I am always a fan of Asian flavors, and I’m always looking for different proteins to use for dinner besides chicken and beef. Pork roast is a protein that I love but often forget about, but I don’t think I’ll be forgetting this Asian Slow Cooker Pork Roast anytime soon!
This recipe couldn’t be easier, and I know you all are always looking for simple crock pot recipes like this one!
How to Make a Slow Cooker Pork Roast
This couldn’t be easier!!
- In the bottom of your slow cooker, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, chili sauce, ginger and pepper.
- Add the pork and stir it to coat it in the sauce.
- Cook until the pork is cooked through and tender.
- When the pork is cooked, remove the meat to a plate.
- Pour the remaining sauce in the slow cooker into a saucepan.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat. Bring it to a boil.
- In a small bowl, combine the water and cornstarch.
- Pour the cornstarch mixture into the boiling sauce and cook until lightly thickened, 4-5 minutes.
- Pour the sauce and the pork back into the slow cooker and stir to coat the meat with the sauce.
- Serve over rice.
How Long to Cook a Pork Roast in the Slow Cooker
In this recipe, the pork will cook faster than in some others because it is cut into smaller chunks. This pork roast recipe will cook on low for 5-6 hours or on high for 3-4 hours. If you are cooking a whole roast, the time will be increased.
Having a good instant reach thermometer will help you out a lot here, so that you can check to see when your pork is done cooking.

I am allergic to nightshades, so I omitted the sweet chili sauce. Instead, I substituted apricot jelly, rice wine vinegar, and white sugar that I premixed into a sauce and added in the place of the chili sauce.
Great dish.

I used this recipe when short of time and heated sauce & meat in a Dutch oven on the stove & then put in the oven for 2 hours at 375. Added fresh garlic, halved the sugar and use more meat, but kept everything else the same. Turned out great! Nice, easy & tasty recipe that was enjoyed and leftovers for dinner again tonight! Will do again in the slow cooker next time.

I made this for New Year’s Day, and it was a hit! My picky eaters enjoyed it too. 🙂 It was easy. 🙂 I did replace regular chili sauce for the sweet chili sauce because that is what I have in my fridge, and it still turned out amazing. I served it over soba noodles. Thank you!

Delicious! Made this tonight for the family. Modified it slightly as I didn’t have everything. I used Splenda brown sugar instead of regular, ginger powder instead of fresh, and I added garlic. I also threw carrots in the crock pot (because my kids love them). Everyone agreed this goes on the make again list!

Made this today and it was a big hit with my family. I am vegetarian, so I didn’t eat it myself, but there were many positive comments, particularly about the sauce. I served it with brown rice and peas. Thanks for a great, and easy recipe.
