Perfect for watching sports, hanging out with friends, or even for eating alongside your pizza on pizza night.
This dip recipe is perfect for any occasion!
Ingredients
Make sure to check out the recipe card below for full ingredient amounts as well as the complete instructions.
- Cheese: The cheese is definitely the star of the show here! We’re going with 4 different white cheeses: cream cheese, mozzarella, Monterey Jack, and parmesan.
- Herbs: While I do love just cheese, the fresh basil and thyme really elevate this recipe. If you don’t want the herbs to come through as strongly, I would suggest cutting them back by at least half.
- Dippers: We love to serve this with crackers, but it is also great with tortilla chips.
How to Make White Cheese Dip
STEP 1: Beat the cream cheese until it is smooth and fluffy. This just makes it easier to stir everything together.
STEP 2: Add in all of the rest of the cheese as well as the herbs and mix it together. The mixture is really stiff, so it may be hard to mix, but just keep at it and it will eventually all come together. You could also use a stand mixer to make this a little easier.
STEP 3: Place this all into a deep dish pie dish that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Bake until the cheese is all melted and bubbly, then serve hot.
Tips and Tricks
This dip can have some grease pool on top after it comes out of the oven. If this bothers you, take a paper towel and blot at the grease to remove any excess.
This dip needs to stay hot, as it will be harder to scoop with a cracker once it has cooled off. So I suggest serving it right as it comes out of the oven. You could also keep it in a slow cooker to keep it warm and melted.
Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to bring a little spicy in.
Make Ahead and Storage Instructions
This dip is easy to make ahead of time. Simply prepare the ingredients and place in the pie plate, then cover and refrigerate. Bake just before serving. You may need to add a few extra minutes if it is coming straight from the refrigerator.
Store any leftovers in covered in the refrigerator.
Leftovers can be reheated in the oven or in the microwave.

White Cheese Dip
Ingredients
- 8 oz cream cheese softened
- 8 oz mozzarella cheese shredded
- 8 oz monterey jack cheese shredded
- 2 oz parmesan cheese shredded
- 1/2 cup lightly packed basil chopped, plus more for garnish
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme chopped
- Assorted crackers and chips for serving
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400ºF. Spray a 9-inch deep dish pie dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a bowl, beat the cream cheese with a hand mixer until it is soft and creamy. Add the mozzarella, Monterey Jack, parmesan, basil, and thyme. Mix well – the mixture will be quite stiff, so just work at it until it is completely combined.
- Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven until it is warmed through and melted and bubbly, 25-30 minutes.
- Serve warm with crackers and chips.

My best friend lives in Cali also and I definitely don’t get to see her enough! Maybe we need to each make this cheese dip and then have a virtual slumber party where we eat it and chat on the phone all night. I like.
