Instructions
Preheat the oven to 450ºF. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silpat baking mat.
In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Add the sour cream and cut into the flour mixture until the mixture becomes clumpy. Stir in the shredded cheese and the garlic. Start adding in the water, 1 tablespoon at a time, mixing just until the mixture comes together.
2 cups all-purpose flour, 3 teaspoons baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, 3/4 cup sour cream, 4 oz shredded cheddar cheese, 2 cloves garlic, 4-5 tablespoons water
Using a large scoop, scoop the dough onto the baking sheet, placing about 2 inches apart. Using wet hands, lightly press the dough down.
Bake until the biscuits are just starting to brown, 10-12 minutes. (Do not over-bake.)
When the biscuits are finished baking, remove from the oven and brush the melted butter over the tops of the biscuits. Serve warm.
2 tablespoons butter
