Ingredients
1cupgranulated sugar
1/4cupbuttercut into cubes
1/4cupwater
3 1/2cupssemi-sweet chocolate chipsdivided
4eggs
1teaspoonvanilla extract
2/3cupall-purpose flour
1/2teaspoonbaking soda
1/2teaspoonsalt
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 325ºF. Line a 9x13-inch pan with parchment paper, or spray with nonstick cooking spray.
In a large saucepan, combine the sugar, butter and water. Place over medium heat and cook until the butter is melted and the mixture starts to boil. Remove from the heat and add 3 cups of the chocolate chips (reserving the last 1/2 cup) and stir until the chocolate is melted.
Add the eggs and vanilla and mix until combined.
Add the flour, baking soda and salt and stir to combine. Stir in the remaining 1/2 cup of chocolate chips.
Spread evenly into the prepared baking dish.
Bake until the brownies are set, about 30 minutes. Do not over-bake.
Let the brownies cool, then cut into squares.
